Gauntlet Participant Agreement & Waiver

Every racer accepts this agreement at checkout and signs it again at Race Expo pickup before receiving a wristband. The minimum age is 16 on race day; racers aged 16 or 17 also need the Parent / Guardian Consent Form (see 3A).

3.1 The activity. The Gauntlet is a 10 km team obstacle course with 12 obstacles on natural terrain near Phnom Kulen. It includes running on uneven ground, climbing, crawling, carrying, heights, mud and water, including a water slide into a pool. It is not timed; start and finish scans are for safety head counts only.

3.2 Risks I accept. I understand obstacle racing carries real risk of injury, including sprains, fractures, cuts, heat illness, dehydration, drowning, insect bites and, rarely, serious injury or death. I take part voluntarily and accept these risks.

3.3 My fitness. I confirm that:

  • I am in good health and fit enough to complete a 10 km course with obstacles.
  • I have no medical condition that makes taking part unsafe, or I have a doctor’s approval.
  • I can swim at least 25 m, or I will skip water obstacles.
  • I am not under the influence of alcohol or drugs while racing.

3.4 Rules I will follow. I will follow marshals, medics and course signs; stay with my team of 4; skip any obstacle I am not confident on, using the bypass route; and stop if staff or medics tell me to. Marshals may remove any racer for safety.

3.5 Medical care. I agree that Glensara’s medical team may give me first aid and, if needed, arrange transport to hospital (Siem Reap) at my own cost. I am responsible for my own travel and medical insurance (strongly recommended).

3.6 Release. To the extent allowed by Cambodian law, I release Glensara, its landowners, partners, staff and volunteers from claims for injury, loss or damage arising from my participation, except where caused by their gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

3.7 Personal belongings. Bag drop is at my own risk. Glensara is not liable for lost or damaged items.

3.8 Media. I agree that photos and video of me during the race may be used by Glensara and its broadcast and sponsor partners.

3.9 Medical declaration (collected at pickup).

3A. Parent / Guardian Consent (racers under 18)

Racers aged 16 or 17 need the signed Parent / Guardian Consent Form (form GE-C01, English and Khmer, linked on the ticket pages). Bring it to registration, or email a signed scan to info@glensara-events.com before the event. No form, no wristband. Under 16s cannot race.

3A.1 Consent. I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor named below. I have read the Gauntlet Participant Agreement & Waiver (sections 3.1–3.9) and agree to it on the minor’s behalf and my own.

3A.2 Risks. I understand the risks described in 3.2 and confirm the minor is fit to take part and can swim 25 m, or will skip water obstacles.

3A.3 Supervision. The minor must race in a team that includes at least two members aged 18 or over. They are the minor’s contacts on course. Glensara staff do not act as guardians.

3A.4 Medical treatment. I authorise Glensara’s medical team to give first aid and, in an emergency when I cannot be reached, to arrange hospital treatment for the minor. Costs are my responsibility.

3A.5 Contact on the day. I will keep my phone on during the race and stay reachable by phone on race day.

3A.6 Release. To the extent allowed by Cambodian law, I release Glensara as set out in 3.6, for myself and for the minor.

3A.7 Festival. After the race, the minor follows the Horizon rules for under-18s: no alcohol, and with an adult after 22:00.
